a day in Morioka

I went to Morioka for the day.Morioka is a capital city in Iwate county, which is situated in the north of Tohoku. First I visited The Iwate museum of Art too see 'The 38th Exhibition of the Selected Contemporary Works'. There are paintings, sculptures and prints of Japanese young artists, and they are all brilliant! The building of this museum is wonderful, too.Very much modern and beautiful architecture. After that,I looked round some of my favourite craftshops in the city centre and did some shopping.Morioka is famous for its local products, and it attracts me a lot! I got a jar of honey, some sweets andbiscuits.I enjoyed walking in the city, even though the weather was quite chilly sometimes. The above photo is one of my favourite shops in Morioka,called'Kohgen-sha'.It has wonderful hand made crafts andthere is a lovely cafe next to the shop

am I obsessed with food?

When I don't work on saturday,I often go to a market in the morning to get some fresh vegetables.
Sometimes I see some oversea students at the
market, but there isn't any young Japanese people.
I wonder why? I love visiting market wherever I go.
The best market I've ever visited is the central market in Barcelona(I can't remember the name..). All the
vegetables and fruits are beautifully stacked up. I
couldn't stop taking photos!
Which market is the best for you??

what about you?

After my work,I went to have drinks with my
colleagues. A pint of Guinness costs 750yen at the
pub I went today,it's about 3.70pounds. Yes,it is
pretty expensive and the taste is not the same as I
was drinking in England. But I enjoy having it
sometimes when I miss my Guinness! Ah,I seem to
have been drinking everyday this week...

just to begin

After 7months my return from the U.K,I haven't been in touch with anyone properly. I wouldn't like to make any excuse for it,but my life is defenitely full of things to do! That means my new life in Japan is not boring at all. This is a small space to let all my
friends know what I'm doing.I'll keep it up as long as I remember my English! Give me lots of comments. Thanks!
